CANDLE CARE TIPS

Natural soy candles perform differently than the paraffin candles. You can find the tips to help you get the most of your candle.

  • As Catsy Candles produced from 100 % soy wax it has what is called a “memory”, it means the candle will melt across as far as it did the first time it was lit. When lightening your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container or light it for 4 hours. This will prevent tunneling.

  • Keep the wick trimmed to 5mm. If the wick is too long the candle will smoke. The wick should be trimmed before each use to prevent mushrooming of the wick or leaving residue around the candle jar. Time to time mushrooming may occur with the candles that are richly scented. If your wick doesn’t appear to be burning very well, extinguish the flame and trim the top of the wick before lightening.

  • If you accidentally trim the wick too short the flame will eventually die out. As Catsy Candles we recommend removing some of the liquid wax surrounding the wick to a safe place and relight the wick.

  • To preserve the fragrance do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours. Once you finish burning the candle, place the lid back on to keep the scent locked in and your candle dust free.

  • All Catsy Candles are hand made in small batches with 100% natural soy wax and a premium blend of natural or fragrance oils.

  • Due to the nature of soy wax depending on the temperature changes sometimes our candles may be prone to frost, meaning pulling away from the glass. This will not affect the quality or performance the candle.

  • There are no additives or chemical stabilizers in Catsy Candles products which means if expose to long periods of UV light our candles may change color. This does not affect the quality or performance of the candle.

  • Store Catsy Candles products in a cool, dark place so that light and heat will not destroy the fragrance and discolor the candle.  The shelf life of your candle will be more than up to 3 years.
